About the Instructor
I offer piano and voice lessons evenings and weekends to ages 6 and up. Students that are younger than 6 I evaluate on a case by case basis. I teach my students to read music and expose them to multiple formats and genre. There are two recitals a year to promote goal setting and follow through.
Voice lessons are taught in a small group setting. Contact me if you would like to try to get a group running.
Why Study Piano?
Learning the piano isn't just about learning to play. It teaches young people responsibility and self-discipline. It works both hemispheres of the brain at the same time (math and language processors). Taught with love and a sense of humor, the children learn to love the language that is music.
Teaching My Passion
I prescribe to the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". My mother was a concert pianist who taught me the way she was taught. I teach my students to read music from scratch. They do not play by numbers. I want them someday to play whatever they want because they will be able to read ANY music.
